Global US defence company establishes in South Australia
The Department of State Development’s Invest SA team and Americas offices have been instrumental in providing support to the latest global defence company to establish in South Australia, SNC.
A top US defence company with more than 40 locations worldwide, SNC has opened its Australian headquarters at Lot Fourteen in Adelaide.
SNC AUS, the Australian subsidiary of SNC, will focus on delivering technologies including common electronic warfare architecture, digital radio frequency and unmanned platforms and sensors.
The company specialises in aircraft modernisation and integration, electronic warfare technologies, and innovative software solutions that enable connected protection through command, control and communications systems across all domains – sea, land, air, space and cyber.
SNC is engaged with the Australian Defence Force with plans to further expand its local presence and unlock new technology job opportunities for South Australians.
“We are excited to expand SNC’s global footprint to South Australia with the launch of SNC AUS,” said Stu Wildman, Stu Wildman, Senior Vice President of Business Development, SNC. “This location was selected specifically for our expansion in Australia because of its business-friendly environment, access to a highly skilled workforce, and opportunity to augment Australia’ growing industrial base.
“Furthermore, the seamless partnership and synergy between SNC AUS, SNC UK and SNC US will unlock previously untapped opportunities and foster the development of new, innovative products in support of the Australian Defence Force and across borders.”
The new headquarters also complements SNC’s existing presence in the United States and United Kingdom, aligning with the AUKUS trilateral security partnership.
The department’s Americas team, began working with SNC to explore opportunities to stimulate economic growth in South Australia and play a pivotal role in the AUKUS agreement, liaising closely with Invest SA’s Defence and Space sector specialists.
