Our international approach to identifying and attracting investment to South Australia is reinforced by our Investment Attraction Advisory Board, comprising business leaders selected for their international business expertise and connections.

Members of the board also have expertise in geographical regions that are our current focus for South Australia, including China, USA, United Kingdom and Europe.

Board members identify business leads and potential candidates for investment attraction. They also provide recommendations on investment and market opportunities and allocation of the Economic Investment Fund.

Chaired by prominent South Australian businessman Rob Chapman, the Board also oversees the performance of the agency in the delivery of clearly defined targets and key performance indicators related to job creation, total investment and return on investment.

Ms Jennifer Nason
Managing Director and Global Chairman Investment Banking, JP Morgan (New York, USA)
Born and raised in Adelaide, Jennifer is one of the most senior women on Wall Street. She is Managing Director and Global Head of Technology, Media and Telecom, (TMT) Investment Banking at JP Morgan and is responsible for key clients across the technology, media and telecom sectors, including News Ltd and Facebook. In April 2015, Jennifer was selected to succeed Malcolm Binks AO as the next Chairman of the American Australian Association and she was  the first Australian, as well as the first woman, elected to this position.

Dr Geoff Raby
Head of Geoff Raby & Associates (Beijing, CHINA)
Geoff was Australia’s Ambassador to China from 2007 to 2011. Following completion of his ambassadorial term, after 27 years in the public service, mostly with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, he established Geoff Raby & Associates Ltd, a Beijing-based business advisory firm helping Australian and Chinese businesses run successful operations across cultures and borders. The firm also informs public and private policy makers. Geoff holds a number of non-executive, independent director positions with ASX-listed companies.

Ms Judith Griggs
Founder, Sports Rights Management LLP (London, UNITED KINGDOM)
A University of Adelaide law graduate, Judith is Founder of Sports Rights Management, a London-based agency specialising in sports and entertainment strategy, rights acquisition, rights development and rights exploitation. Prior to forming Sports Rights Management, Judith was Chief Operating Officer of Allsport Management, a Formula One™ group company, based in Switzerland. Before joining Allsport, Judith was CEO of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation in Melbourne, Australia. She was responsible for both the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix and Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix events.

Mr Nick Rowe
Managing Director of Houlihan Lokey (Sydney, AUSTRALIA)
Nick is Managing Director of Houlihan Lokey, a Los Angeles-based investment bank that opened its head-office in Sydney in 2015. Houlihan Lokey is part owned by Japanese financial group Orix. Nick was previously country head for investment bank CIMB Australia and has more than 26 years’ experience in investment banking and corporate restructurings having also worked for ABN Amro, Credit Suisse First Boston and Swiss Banking Corporation.

Professor Göran Roos
Global expert in strategy and innovation, and industrial and innovation policy (SWEDEN/UNITED KINGDOM)
Göran is a world-renowned expert in the areas of strategy and innovation management as well as industrial and innovation policy. He was the former Chair of the Advanced Manufacturing Council in Adelaide and a former member of the Prime Minister’s Manufacturing Leaders Group. In his academic and professional work, Göran has advised government bodies in UK, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Spain, Austria and Australia on issues relating to strategy, research and development, national and regional innovation systems issues, knowledge management and intellectual capital

Ms Joanna Hewitt AO
Joanna’s decorated career has spanned senior public and private sector roles in the areas of agriculture, trade and foreign policy as well as corporate and public sector boards in Australia and across the globe. Some of her roles have included Secretary of the Australian Department of Agriculture (2004-2007), Deputy Secretary in the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ambassador to the European Communities, Belgium and Luxembourg (2000-2003) and APEC Ambassador (1999-2000). She has served on the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security of the United Nations (2013-16) and held a senior role in the OECD’s Agriculture Directorate in Paris (1993-96).

Mr Bill Muirhead AM (Ex-Officio)
Agent General for South Australia (London, UNITED KINGDOM)
Bill Muirhead has been the Agent General for South Australia since 2007. Bill is a South Australian who completed his education in London where he studied at the Institute of Marketing. He has a decorated advertising career working for high-profile agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather and Saatchi & Saatchi working with clients such as British Airways, Qantas, The Conservative Party, Toyota, BP and News International. In 1995 he was a Founding Partner of M&C Saatchi. Bill became a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for significant service to the community of South Australia through the promotion of international trade

Mr David Reynolds (Ex-Officio)
Chief Executive, Department of Treasury and Finance (Adelaide, SOUTH AUSTRALIA)
David commenced as Chief Executive, Department of Treasury and Finance, South Australia in December 2015. In his previous role as South Australian Deputy Under Treasurer, David was responsible for the South Australian Government budget process and supporting the Treasurer and the government in its decision making. During his executive career in the South Australian public service, David has worked in tax policy and revenue forecasting as well as commonwealth–state relations.
