In 2016, one of Australasia’s largest home-grown IT services companies, Datacom, pledged to invest $22 million to help develop an IT hub within TAFE SA’s Tea Tree Gully campus. The new site will provide training, full-time employment and career opportunities for hundreds of South Australians.
The partnership also involves key partners Workskil, SYC, The University of Adelaide and the South Australian Government, and looks to strengthen the tie between education and industry. This will produce innovative business solutions and opportunities for young South Australians looking to take the lead in the technology market.
A key focus is the development of a clear training-to-job pathway, which will support the best and brightest young IT talent, and benefit the state’s economy as a whole.
The South Australian market remains a key regional centre of Datacom, with local staff supporting local public and private sector clients, as well as Datacom’s national and global clients since 2006.
Datacom South Australia has continued to expand its local operations, and is committed to multiple long term partnerships with the state government and its partners.
